York is a lightweight but powerful application that allows you to capture all traffic on your network card. It comes with a variety of features and options to analyze and parse the captured packets. The information available about each packet includes source and destination (IP address or FQDN), packet size and protocol. But there is more, York can also capture passwords for different services or protocols such as FTP, SMTP, HTTP, POP3, VNC, SMB and AIM, and the files transmitted can be captured and stored as well.

More advanced features are also available as York lets you use filters and import logs to a MySQL database, capture traffic into a pcap file, apply restrictions using tcpdump filters, and you can even track web sessions.
