When you install a new hardware on your computer, without the correct driver it will just show as an unknown devices and is completely useless. Fortunately, newer editions of Windows now auto-detect the new devices and automatically attempt to download and install the correct driver. But if you use older editions of Windows, like Windows 95, 98, 98SE, Me, 2000 or XP, there is an application that can help you out. Unknown Devices is an application that reveals what those unknown devices are that you see in the Device Manager.
Unknown Devices requires no installation and you can run it from a CD or USB flash drive. This small utility will automatically scan your system and display a complete list of all the currently connected hardware devices. With this program you no longer have to open your computer case to identify that unrecognized piece of hardware.
