"Easily analyze buffer underruns when processing real-time tasks"
Written By
LatencyMon

If you are noticing a buffer underrun when processing real-time audio or other tasks that require real-time synchronization, then you can make use of this application. LatencyMon is a simple application with powerful capabilities that can help you analyze the causes for the poor performance of your system, which can be reflected by buffer underruns. It measures kernel timer latencies, and reports DPC and ISR execution times, and hard page-faults. It will then provide you a detailed report of the kernel modules which are causing the latencies.

LatencyMon can be used to monitor the ISR, DPC, and hard page-fault. Since Windows is not a real-time operating system, but it is based on best-effort delivery basics, it cannot ensure that the audio is delivered on the right time. And as you know, this audio latencies are responsible for drop outs. This software is intended to be used by support engineers, system builders, or kernel developers, so you should be sure about what you are doing before changing any settings or policies.
