As you reached this page and are reading this article, you must be into airfoils or entering this field, as here we present XFOIL, an interactive solution for the design and analysis of subsonic isolated airfoils.
Among the functions its routines can perform you’ll find viscous (or inviscid) analysis of an existing airfoil, airfoil design and redesign by interactive modification of surface speed distributions using a full-inverse or mixed-inverse method, airfoil redesign by interactive modification of geometric parameters, blending of airfoils, writing and reading of airfoil coordinates and polar save files, as well as plotting of geometry, pressure distributions, and multiple polars.
Note that elsewhere on Winportal we presented the open-source product called XFLR5, a model aircraft design solution which might be the successor for XFOIL.
