The product presented here is called WHOIS utility. Now, as you reached this page and are reading this article, you probably don’t need much introduction to WHOIS, the query and response protocol for checking domain name ownership, documented in RFC 3912.
WHOIS has been around since the early days of what we now know as the world wide web or internet, but it’s not standard available on your operating system.
As such, if you’d like to have command-line WHOIS lookup functionality, WHOIS utility might be just what you need. Note that you won’t be provided a graphical user interface, but you need to launch it from the DOS command prompt.
If features lookup functionality for IP addresses and domain names, supporting HTTPS and SOCKS 4 and 5 proxies.
So, proceed to the download to see if it suits your WHOIS lookup needs.
