Windows built-in Task Manager is a decent program that shows information about processes running in your computer, but it lacks a lot of features for deeper analysis. And exactly this is what motivated the development of the following application. Process Explorer is a powerful application for Windows, that provides monitoring and examination tools. It provides detailed information about processes running on your system, and can be used for debugging software or system-related problems.
Process Explorer shows a list of active processes along with the accounts owning them, and it features different modes to display the information about a particular process. In 'Handle' mode, the application shows the handles that the process has opened, whereas in 'DDL' it will shows the DLLs and memory-mapped files loaded by any process. Process Explorer can be very useful to track down problems, for example: you can use it to see what is holding a file when you can't copy it to your USB drive or send it over email, as well as other more technical and professional analysis.
