"Portable Opera browser featuring TOR anonymity"
Written By

TOR stands for The Onion Router, and is an anonymity network. Without entering into the details on how it exactly works, it can be said it is intended to enable online anonymity.

Opera is one of the most popular web browsers, especially appreciated for its innovations and security and privacy enhancements.

Here we present OperaTor, a free portable browser, combining Opera with Tor and Polipo. The latter is designed to be used as a personal or shared web cache.

As such, here you have a portable solution to surf the web anonymously, which might be handy to take along with you on your portable USB pendrive. Especially when travelling, you might want to ensure you don't leave tracks on public machines in hotels and other places, for instance.

Note that this tool is no longer supported, but there is a new and in some way similar program from the same author also available on Winportal, but without TOR support, called Operator YAPO.
