Google DNS Helper

You might have heard about DNS servers, but for those of you who are not quite familiar with what they do, a DNS server translates a domain (www.facebook.com for example) into an IP address (69.171.228.74). The only way to reach a device on a network environment is by knowing its IP address, so without a DNS server, you will have to remember the IP addresses of all the websites you want to access.

Your ISP (Internet Service Provider) usually has its own DNS servers, which are part of your default configuration. However, they can be slow sometimes, and can even fail. Google DNS Helper is a small application that allows you to switch Google's DNS server with a single click. What is more, Google DNS Helper also saves your current DNS' IP addresses, so you can roll back at any time. Although you can do this change manually, this little program makes it a lot easier.
