"Turn-based strategy game inspired in the evolution of civilizations"
Written By
Freeciv

If you like classic strategy games like Civilization, then you will most likely enjoy this game too. Freeciv is a turn-based strategy game that resemblances Civilization a lot, but it is completely open source. This game is based in the evolution of human civilizations and your goal is to lead your town from the Stone Age to become a great nation in the Space Age. You are the leader of a tribe, and they need your guidance to adapt to changes, learn and develop new technologies, conquer other lands and more.

Freeciv is a really entertaining and addictive game, despite its simple interface and the relatively low quality graphics. It supports up to 30 players, human-controlled and/or computer-controlled, as well as a LAN multiplayer option to play with your friends over a network. There are more than 100 nations you can choose to start with, each of them with their own type of buildings, but with the same characteristics. The game also offers multi-language support, so you can enjoy it in your own language.
